The foundation of the organization is a strong focus on commodities and a strong link to product development. With this an early integration in all relevant product developments is ensured and processes, supplier collaboration, as well as communication is simplified.
Frank Sommer, Senior Vice President Global Purchasing, leads the global CEO Function Purchasing through seven Commodity Groups and four supporting Functions.
The customer is always the focus of all CLAAS business activities. Global Purchasing is supporting this with a European-wide commodity approach. This alignment is across all functions within the CLAAS group.
CLAAS does this to remain competitive in an ever-changing environment. CLAAS is seeking improvements and a lever for efficiency increase which will be achieved by establishing the global commodity approach.
The global organization will be affecting all CLAAS departments while streamlining processes and procedures. As far as you are affected by this, you will be informed directly by your known contacts.
As of now, no further specific changes are in preparation.
In the new organization CLAAS values and appreciates the close partnership with our suppliers. Greater transparency in our procurement and our global focus will offer our suppliers additional opportunities in the future.
Existing contracts and agreements remain in place.
Current business and planned deliveries are not affected by the restructuring. Likewise, CLAAS's sites and production network remain unaffected.
In the organization, contacts for logistics and quality on commodity level are defined. In addition, local contact people will remain in both departments at the local site.
For most commodities there will be only one Purchasing face to the supplier. In some unique cases the responsibility will be shared between multiple contacts.
Your known contact will inform you if your contact changes. The known contact will oversee a smooth hand-over.
